The 2nd A.I.F. Abroad Digger Humour (1943) Sketched In The Field By Ramon Mascord 2nd A.I.F.

From the author... This book is not meant for any other purpose than to give the folks back home some idea of the natural wit and happy-go-lucky spirit of the Aussie, and how "the Boys" make the best of it under hardships. Many of these drawings are based on actual happenings and sayings, the drawings and cover were done on active service, in the field and sometimes under difficulties, so if you enjoy the reading of it, I will feel that I have succeeded, and my efforts have been worthwhile.

Australian Army 2nd AIF Cartoon Book (Mascord) America had Sad Sack, Willie and Joe, Britain had Jane and the "Two Types"...and Australia had Butch and the other characters Ramon Mascord sketched in his view of "Digger humour in the field."
