North Vietnamese Protest Against Phu Loi Massacre Photograph (1959) By Hsinhua News Agency
There is little public information about the Phu Loi massacre which saw approx 1000 political prisoners food poisoned while being interned by the South Vietnamese Government in 1959. This event was propagated as a crime by the North Vietnamese Government to its people who viewed the South as removing its political opposition.

Xinhua News Agency (English pronunciation: /ˌʃɪnˈhwɑː/), or New China News Agency, is the official state news agency of the People's Republic of China. A State Council's ministry-level institution was founded in 1931. Xinhua is the largest media organ in China and is a channel for the distribution of information related to the Chinese government and the ruling Chinese Communist Party.
