Geschichte der Panzergrenadierdivision "Großdeutschland" An der Ostfront 1942-1944 (2001) By Thomas McGuirl and Remy Spezzano

"God, Honour, Fatherland" was the motto of the Panzergrenadier Division "Großdeutschland" until its dissolution as a Panzer Corps.

Always deployed at the hotspots of the war, especially on the Eastern Front as a "fire brigade," this elite unit paid a heavy price in blood.

The American authors present a photo book that sets a new standard in both the quality and quantity of its images, documenting one of the division's toughest periods of operation between 1942 and 1944 on the Eastern Front with many previously unpublished photographs. Images and text are masterfully combined to create a cohesive whole. Extensive research and interviews with former members of the division enabled the authors to obtain precise and detailed information about the content of the photographs.

The book focuses on tactics and organisation, technology and equipment, as well as numerous scenes from daily life at the front. The high quality of the images was achieved through the use of state-of-the-art image processing techniques.
