Geschichte Der Deutschen Kriegswirtschaft 1939-1945: Vol.1- 1939-41 (1971) By Dietrich Eichholtz
An interesting book detailing how the rearming of Germany and the subsequent road to war was driven by big banks and corporate profit interests sacrificed the life interest of the nation.
Volumes I (1969) and II (1984) of the "History of the German Wartime Economy" progressed to being a standard work that, even today, can still lay claim to being at the forefront of research in the area of the German wartime economy. The concluding Volume III investigates, for the period from Fall, 1943 to the end of the war – a period that previously had not been comprehensively described anywhere, the highlights, the collapse and the death throes of the German wartime economy in its close association with the course of the war, and the political and social circumstances in the German sphere of control.
