British Army Aid Group (BAAG) Hong Kong Resistance 1942-1945 (1981) By Edwin Ride
Hong Kong fell to the Japanese in December 1941. Shortly afterward Colonel L. T. Ride and a group of companions escaped from the Shamshuipo prison camp and made their way to Free China. There, Colonel Ride suggested to the military officials that an organization be set up to help prisoners of war, internees and escapees. The War Office approved and the British Army Aid Group was born. From the material and papers left behind by Sir Lindsay Ride, his son, Edwin Ride, has reconstructed an account of the events of this period.
