8x Tyler & Barrett 54mm Metal ARP Series 213 Gas Decontamination Squad

Rare Taylor & Barrett Civilian Decontamination Squad Offered is an original 8 piece Taylor & Barrett Civilian Decontamination Squad, produced in England prior to World War II, circa 1938-1940.

These hollow-cast lead figures depict members of an Air Raid Precautions (ARP) civilian decontamination squad wearing gas masks and protective clothing. Sets like these were produced just before WWII and had a relatively short production run, making them highly sought after by collectors today.

These figures were sold in an attempt to get the general public used to the ARP before the war.

Ironically, production of these figures came to an abrupt end; the Luftwaffe destroyed their Finchley Road factory in early 1940 - destroying most of the moulds for these figures.

These sets had a very short production run spanning only 2 years.
